The CW has revealed the first look at star Keiynan Lonsdale’s Wally West in costume as Kid Flash, the hero best known in DC Comics canon as the teen sidekick to The Flash (aka Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin). Throughout Grant Gustin’s CW tenure as Barry Allen, the show has certainly seen its ups and downs in terms of both writing quality and suits. One of the great things about a superhero television show getting multiple seasons is that, over time, the hero’s costume changes and evolves right alongside the hero themselves. The most recent version, the aforementioned “future” suit, made its debut this past fall with the Arrowverse series’ fifth season with a bright red suit that forgoes the “hoodie” style design of its predecessors, continuous bolt-like gold belt, a new mask without the chin strap, and a sleeker version of the hero’s lightning bolt symbol. Her voice appeared to sound much deeper than normal and had a posh edge to it while she dressed in a classic 90s outfit with a pastel suit, chunky gold earring and big hair.

Through his past appearances in Zack Snyder-directed films, The Flash has primarily served as comedic relief to lighten a darker tone.
